Ortahisar village is just a 10-minute drive from Goreme and about the same time to Uchisar by car. You can get a fantastic view from the peak fo the castle which can be seen the panorama of Hallacdere valley - the fairy chimneys valley, and the majestic, snow-capped volcano Erciyes.
Kaymaklı underground city is one of the largest and the widest underground cities in Cappadocia. It has got 8 floors below ground but only 4 floors are open to visit today.it is built under the hill known Citedal of Kaymaklı town. Kaymaklı underground city has ventilation shafts, winery, stone doors, a food storage room, and various other large rooms and small and low tunnels.
Cavusin village is 2 km away from Göreme and on the way to Avanos.One of the oldest settlements of Cappadocia. It is also famous its church of Saint John the Baptist belonging to the 5th century.
